Blaine Hudson was the son of Dr. James Blaine Hudson II and Lillian Leona Hudson.Hudson. He was highly intelligent and very humble man who never forgot where he came from- the ..West End of Louisville, Kentucky.
As Blaine contcontinued to gain accolades within academia he remained connected to his community. He always wanted to see a better Louisville and Black America.
He served as chair of the University of Louisville's Pan-African Department from 1998-2003 and was the Associate Dean in the College of Arts & Sciences from 1994-2004. In 2004, he was aappointed Acting Dean. After a national search he was appointed Dean of the Arts & Sciences in 2005. He remained Dean until his untimely passing in 2013.
Blaine's desire for change reached far beyond the local community. He visited other countries during his life and as Dean at the University he was able to share his dreams of change.
